Ghosts So, do you believe they exist? Or have you had any sort of weird experiences that you can't explain?
Now, when I say ghosts, I don't mean floating white sheets, or anything like that, I mean do you think that hauntings come from an outside source, rather than (as some people believe) that they are brought on by the people seeing/sensing them?

I remain a synical sceptic until thoroughly proven wrong. :P

I believe ghost could exsist...I've never really seen one or had any experiences that could be considered supernatural...but its definitely a possibility because it all comes down to what we are made of as humans...beneath all the flesh water and carbon there is a soul...some form of energy that makes us go...makes all of our parts work and energy can neither be created or destroyed as far as we know so far therefore what happens to the energy our bodies harness when we die?

You've just pretty much summed up what I think. :D

well hey great minds think alike right?

I guess part of me doesn't want to believe that there could be such unrest after death. Then the other part of me says, "why the hell not, everything else pretty much sucks!"

I believe in the possibility of ghosts. But I haven't seen any concrete evidence of their existence, so I can't really say that I believe in them fully.

I have a picture of one, apparently. I've told this story over and over and over for years now.
When I was bout 4, we moved into a new house. Before we did, my mom toook a picture of the house. The picture somewhere in my new house, in one of the 3 windows on the second floor, you can see a figure of a young girl with snow white hair staring out. Now, of course, no one knew what that could be. Even the priest in our parish didn't know.
I have many other stories such as, the one day I was sleeping in that same house in the room of the picture. This was serval years later of course. I woke up to hear barking. I did have a dog at that time, a dalmation. He was very quite and only barked or retaliated when something was wrong or appear leathal to him. He was in the basement so even if he was barking, it would be less louder. I woke up, and from my bed you could see the door. It was open, I fell asleep playing a game. I layed there and starred into the hall.....when I saw a dog, a black one. Skinny, with a red collar on. It barked and ran out of my sight. I jumped up and slammed the door, locked it, and ran into bed. Next day, no sign of dog.....
strange things happened in that house....even here in my new one too.

By the way that was my sister you saw in your window, she does that alot, just ignore her.
But the dog I cant explain  , sounds like cerberus syndrome to me.

lol
cerberus syndrom, lmao
It almost looked like a cerberus too, except normal...living..not dead/alive.

Now that I think about it, I really want ghosts to exist. It's not that I want the lingering soul of a person to be stuck forever in torment between worlds. It's that I think I would rather it be for some purpose, such as, I would like for the apparitions to have a task that was necessary for well-being of us all. Just a thought.

yes i believe... although i don't want to be proven right.. :?
i had this one experience where i woke up and there was this kind of figure thing floating by my bed, it was kind of blue grey and all blurry and i thought oh its just my eyes so i blink and blinked again....and it was still there. so i shut my eyes and thought please go away...please go away. and then it did. it was freaky but not really scary, cos it was quite a calm..er thing.
after my dad died my husband saw something in our bedroom that he kind of called a ghost and he's was and still is a complete cynic, so i beleive he must have seen something to spook him out
Yana- 07-21-2006
I've seen my great nan, standing facing my bedroom door like she was guarding me or something. That was a few years ago. I hid under my bedsheet.

Well, one part of me wants there to be something other than death. I mean, it's only human. Nobody wants to die. We don't want to think about it; it goes against our very nature of self-preservation. To think that there is nothing waiting for us but oblivion... that's unfathomable. So we try to comfort ourselves by saying that there IS something after death. Whether or not there IS, we don't know. Nobody who has died has come back(at least, not as a HUMAN.:wink:) On the other hand, on a purely philosophical level, I wonder what oblivion would be like. Would we even be aware on some level? Are our souls TRULY immortal? If so, then what journey do they undertake after the death of our mortal recepticles? Do they merge with the other souls that have been released? Or do they go into other bodies? Are our souls truly our own, or are they "recycled?" Do souls CHOOSE the bodies they wish to live in? When there's nothing to do, I ponder on such questions, which lead to even MORE questions. Are souls "good or evil?" Does the person have any effect upon the soul, or is it the other way around? Why are some people inheritently evil if they have a soul? Does the soul affect the person in ANY way?

If energy can't be created then how would new people be made? We would have to go with the theory of reincarnation. If there is X amount of energy or souls then that amount can never change because this energy can't me created or destroyed. So for new people to be born the left over energy from our dead bodies would have to enter these new bodies in order for life to keep going.
So to answer your question when we die our energy enters another life form.
