Btw: I learned that vampire bats do not 'suck' the blood out. They bite in certain places that they know the blood will flow heavily from, and, as the blood pools they lap it up like a dog lapping up water. Only misquitos actually suck the blood from you, 'cause they must draw it through their sharp, straw-like protrusion to ingest it which is why the way vampires suck blood in hollywood movies wouldn't work in real life, if they kept the fangs in it would plug up the holes and it wouldn't bleed until they removied their mouths. so i suppose they'd at least have to bite, then take the fangs out and suck. i doubt they'd get much blood that way either though without figgen enormous fangs, because puncture wounds don't tend to bleed massively, at least not all at once, whereas the mosquito i think also secretes something that thins the blood so you bleed more and it doesn't clot, which would be a big problem for vampires, i'd think, as well as the way the thing mosquitos stick in you keeps the wound open. i always imagined it would be like stepping on a nail, except two of them, and that the initial bite would hurt the most.
