I was looking at some online secrets for Silent Hill 4, and found out that, if done at the right time, you can heal Eileen with candles. I did it at the exact moments I was supposed to and, to my surprise, it worked extremely well! She walked so slow to the machine in the final battle, I actually had to slow down and wait for her to get there to get the "eileen's Death" ending. Even though I was dissappointed with the ending, I was very pleased with the trick.

What you do is, at two points in "Outside Room 302" world (I think it is when you see the book on the floor in the main stairwell and near the umbilical cord in the Super's room), set a candle directly in front of her and let it burn until it is almost out before doing another action (in the stairwell, you run out of the room; in the Super's room, you select the Umbilical cord). It is supposed to heal her drastically, and it actually worked for me.

Has anyone else tried this? If so, did it work for you?

I have been looking at a book called A Death in Belmont and its about the Boston stranglings, anyway I never really knew anything about the case before I looked at the book. Loooking at the book though I found out that the Boston Stranglers name was Albert Desalvo. So what does this have to do with SH4 you ask? Well lets think about this; in SH4 there was a character named Andrew Desalvo (sounds familiar right?). Anyway, considering that SH4 was about a serial killer named Walter Sullivan, maybe Team Silent put the character of Andrew Desalvo in there as a reference to the Boston Stranglings? Its a very interesting connection and it doesn't seem very far-fetched at all.

So anyway what's your opinion on this?

I run across very few people who actually enjoyed the fourth game (in the context of a SH game, anyways) and I figure since I did, I might as well be the first to post on here

My question is in regards to the oft-seen connection between the Silent Hill games and the short lived David Lynch series, Twin Peaks, two things which, as an aspiring writer to this kind of thing, I find myself extremely fascinated with.

To those with an extensive knowledge of both series'; does anyone see any major connections between the spirit of Killer Bob from Twin Peaks and the spirit of Walter Sullivan? I mean, serious connections, to the point of where I think we can get a theory off the ground that Walter may actually be at least partially based off of Bob! I'm sort of working out the kinks in my own theory to this now, but some of the notable coincidences include:

-Mass Murderers
-Travel effortlessly between the real world and their own alternate realm
-Actually spirits
-Capable of possession
-particular attraction/connection to certain women
-solid split between good/evil in the form of doppelgangers

I figure even if it's not enough to build a solid case between the two characters, at least it might get people interested in debate.

Because hey, why not?

Which one do you think actually happened? I'm aware that none of them can be proven as the correct one yet, but I'd be interested to see which one you thought the most likely, why, and what your choice might mean for future games. Granted, it'd probably be awhile before you find out if you're right or not (people are still debating the end to SH2!) but if you do end up being proven right by information from a future game, that's got to be bragging rights, huh?
