Counting all the games, there is only one that we know the "correct" ending to, and that is V1. So thus far happy endings are ahead 1-0.
For V4, "Mother" will probably end up the official ending I think, I'd rather that not be the case, but it seems to fit best with the series, none of the female interests live.

What about Heather? She was still living at the conclusion of SH3- albeit she may have "changed" since the beginning of the game.

I think Cappy was talking about love interests of the characters, shootz, not interests of the players. =P

Ah...sorry about that. I am not really sure which ending is the TRUE ending and I don't really think there is one- unless I'm missing something.
