This would hold true to the pictures in the church in SH3. There it's depicted that a man and woman are the vessels. Personally, I always thought it was one of the cult's priests but now I found the page below that says Kaufman was the father. Go down the page and it talks about Alessa. The page also talks about Lisa being the one that kidnapped Dahlia's baby (Cheryl) and the pictures from the church are in the gallery section of the site. I think I read somewhere on that site at least some of the information came from the graphic novels.
