Xuchilbara?
#1
First of all, I want to say how cool theories are, as I'm starting to get into at the moment.

As for my question: it regards the Red God, Xuchilbara. Is there any way to get more information about him/her (?), say on Wikipedia or another source? I'd love to find out more information, since I hear most of you theorize on him/her (?).

Thanks!

The red God Xuchilbara appears in the games as Valtiel

In Silent Hill 3 we are introduced for the first time to Valtiel. He is a being that watches over Heather ensuring that the God is safely born. Team Konami took some liberties and created the word Valtiel which means Valet of God.

First I'd like to say that despite popular belief Valtiel is not Lobsel Vith. In fact Valtiel was a role played by Xuchilbara the Red God.

Impossible, ridiculous? Take a look at this evidence.

1. In Silent Hill 2 if you get the rebirth ending James mentions how by reviving the old Gods that he can rebirth Mary. Interesting: because Valtiel pretty much did the same thing to Heather and Alessa. Also take note that one of the items used is the Crimson Tome which contains this passage.

I am the Crimson One, the lies and the mist are not they, but I.
You all know that I am the One, yes, and the One is I.

The phrase "Lies and the mist" are about the same as the phrase "Other world"

Also there is this passage found in Maria's scenario BFaW.

Memo Title: "Lost Memories" I have the strongest trust - you may even can it faith - in the miracle called "Ressurection of the Dead".

Upon the hill where the light descended, the Beast intoned his song. With words of blood, drops of mist and the vessel of night, the grave became an open field.

The people wept in fear and joy at the reunion, but my faith in the salvation of Xuchilpaba did not waver.

It is also spoken of in the ancient legends. The original worshippers did not believe that death was the end but that it was simply the path by which the decreased returned to nature. They also believed the process was reversible.

Yep more evidence that Xuchilbara/paba is a God of rebirth.

The name Xuchilbara is formed from the Aztec words Xuchil=Flower and Bara=Spear. In ancient Aztec ceremonies the Xuchil a type of flower was used in the ceremony known as "The Day of the Dead"

2. In the lost memories translated page it states that Walter's first victim Jimmy Stone was a priest of the Valtiel sect. It states that Jimmy would don the ceremonial robes of Valtiel. Look at the picture and you'll notice he is also donning a red hood.

3. Walter followed the Valtiel sect for awhile, in the paper in Silent Hill 2 Walter says that it was the Red Devil that made him do it. Replace Devil with God and you get Red God. Valtiel = Red God.

4. The items that James must collect for the rebirthing ceremony are the exact same items that Walter used in his rituals. The Obsidian Goblet, The White Chrism, The Crimson Tome, and the Book of Lost Memories. These are also the same items that Ernest Baldwin asks Maria to get for him in the "Born from a Wish" scenario.

Take into note something interesting here. In Silent Hill 2 and 4 we notice certain people gathering these items to perform a sort of rebirthing ritual. In Silent Hill and Silent Hill 3 we do not see this. The reason why? Valtiel/Xuchilbara was present in game 3 physically and in a way in game 1. After all who could have taken Cheryl to the cemetery?

It wasn’t Dahlia as Dahlia was too busy rushing Alessa to the hospital in order to prolong her suffering.

Who can walk between the Lords Realm (the normal realm), the foggy realm, and Outside the Lord’s realm (the Nightmare realm)? Who would have already known about Alessa’s powers of manifestation? That would be Valtiel.
"Believers hearken to me! Twenty score men and seven thousand beasts. Heed my words and speaketh them to all, that they shall ever be obeyed even under the light of the proud and merciless
sun. ." - Xuchilbara
